Seville is the financial, commercial and cultural centre of the Andalusia region of southern Spain. In common with other Spanish cities, Seville is an appealing mix of Moorish and western influences but with Seville the Moor elements are largely retained and far more pronounced, giving the city and province an authentically classic Spanish feel. Amidst the stunning mediaeval and baroque architecture sits the finest luxury hotels Seville, Spain and Europe possesses.

The Spanish region of Andalusia represents everything romantic and classical about Spain. The rich cultural history of the region has seen many contributions to the art, literature, music, dance and gastronomy which helps define Spain to the rest of the world. The famous Andalusian provinces of Cadiz, Malaga, Cordoba, Huelva, Grenada, Jaen and of course Seville have shaped the history of all of Spain and the authentic slice of Spanish life and history evident in Andalusia is a world away from the sunshine and beach holidays which typify the northern coast of the country.

The Romans were the first to appreciate the natural riches of Seville and its surrounds and the Roman viaduct ruins in the city and the well preserved nearby Roman city of Italica are a testament to their success. The overall feeling of Seville is not Roman however but Moor and it is their influence which persists most in the city, particularly in the remarkable Moorish architecture, evident throughout. The luxury hotels of Seville will certainly have an ambience and character wholly influenced by the surrounds, whether the hotel itself occupies some of the classic architecture or the ultra-modern spaces of a vibrant contemporary city.

Seville has some fine art galleries and museums but it is also a city in which the buildings themselves are the art and the history. Two architectural city landmarks in particular have become the most popular visitor attractions. The first of these is Seville's majestic Cathedral, which is an architectural statement on a grand scale. One of the largest cathedrals in the world, it is also inlayed with gold and blends Moorish and Gothic influences effortlessly to create one of the world's most remarkable structures. Built on the site of the mosque, the Cathedral incorporates pillars from the original 9th century mosque building but also retains one of its most enduring features, the minaret, which has become the Cathedrals bell tower.

The other most notable old city landmark in Seville sits adjacent to the Cathedral and is every bit as remarkable. The Alcazar, as it is named, retains all of the Moorish design of the original Mujedar palace and is refined by Renaissance elements and stunning gardens which encompass Moor, Andalusian and Mediterranean styles. The classical cityscape of Seville stretches as far as the eye can see and other notable monuments and buildings to visit include the University of Seville, converted from an 18th century baroque style factory, and Torre del Oro, a Moor style watchtower.

The luxury hotels Seville, Spain and the rest of the world have may all display a wealth of charms, amenities, facilities and services but few can boast the incredible environments of Seville. The luxury hotels within or near the old city are conveniently located for most of Seville's most popular attractions and often themselves occupy grand buildings which exude an age-old elegance and refinement. Seville is not all about history however and as the contemporary beating heart of the south of Spain, the city has many modern developments and hotels too.

The renaissance of Seville as a popular city break destination and important financial, and commercial centre, began in 1992 when the city held the Universal Exposition of Seville. The growth in the city's infrastructure has been rapid and includes an international airport and high speed train link to the nation's capital Madrid. Seville has also developed into a prime location for international conferences and conventions and has a dedicated conference centre, the Congress Palace.

Many of the modern luxury hotels of Seville are business oriented and often associated themselves with hosting business meetings and corporate events. In addition they will offer the business traveller everything required to enable them to do work while in the city. Typically, luxury business hotels will have a dedicated business centre, complete with fax, printing, and photocopying equipment as well as meeting and board rooms and often telephone and computer for hire. Translation and secretarial services may also be available. Additional services for business travellers may include executive floors and exclusive services such as express check-in. There may also be executive rooms and suites which have additional features for business such as work desks and dual line telephones.

Whether in Seville for business or pleasure, within its luxury hotels, Seville, Spain and all the Andalusian and Spanish flavour and colour will be self evident, and every effort will be made to ensure visitors have all the right information and services to make the most from the wonderful surrounds during their stay in the city. The cultural heritage of the city incorporates traditional music and dance, most evident during the festivals such as April Fair. Flamenco fashion and dancing are particularly popular.

What Seville is also famous for is the food and the city is a true gastronomic paradise. In the city's luxury hotels, Seville, Spain and the wider Mediterranean are all well represented in the culinary delights on offer and the dishes are served within a range of sumptuous and stylish dining environments.
